Stage Collapes at Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium

A storm swept through the Pukkelpop Festival on Thursday in Belgium, killing at least three people and injuring more than 70 others, an official said.

The stage collapse, which is the second in less than a week, occurred one song into Chicago-based band Smith Westerns' set when a massive storm ripped into the area causing trees to collapse on The Chateau stage.

Tweets from the band confirmed the stage collapse and the destruction of their gear.

The sold-out, three-day festival that kicked off Thursday had a massive lineup including a number of New York-based acts like Pains of Being Pure at Heart, MNDR, The Antlers, Cults and Blonde Redhead.

Organizers of the long running festival expected close to 200,000 attendees over the course of the event.
