Matt Sottile joined NBC Connecticut as a sports anchor and multi-media journalist in January 2026.

A native of East Granby, Matt is a proud graduate of Northwest Catholic and Boston College. He’s thrilled to be back working in his home state.

Prior to joining NBC Connecticut, Matt was a sports reporter at KETV in Omaha, Nebraska, where he covered everything across the Cornhusker State, including Nebraska football and the College World Series, and somehow still managed to stay on the Big East basketball beat 1,400 miles from home.

He previously served as a weekend news anchor and reporter at Western Mass News (WGGB) in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Matt’s passion for sports began at a young age. Some of his earliest memories include sold-out UConn games at the XL Center, trips to see the Rock Cats and Wolf Pack, and volunteering as a standard bearer at the Travelers Championship.

What he enjoys most is capturing the passion and energy fans pour into their favorite teams. He’s excited to (re)discover Connecticut and all it has to offer.
