Hazy, hot and humid conditions are expected for today. Temperatures will soar to the upper 80s to mid 90s by midday and an air quality is in effect for most of the tri-state, including the five boroughs. A stray thunderstorm may develop in the muggy air, but most areas will remain dry. A better chance for storms is expected Thursday, with slightly lower temperatures in the mid 80s.
