Tight Security in Times Square for 2018 Ball Drop

Police had Times Square and other parts of the city heavily protected ahead of the New Year’s Eve ball drop. Authorities said there were no credible threats to New York, but the annual New Year’s bash comes after weeks after a failed bombing near Times Square and months after a truck plowed into people on a busy Manhattan bike path, killing eight.
