State of Emergency Declared in Charlotte Amid Violence as 9 Arrested in NYC

A state of emergency was declared in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday night amid a second night of unrest following the shooting of a man by police there earlier in the week. Numerous people were injured or arrested in Charlotte. One protester was shot in his head. Meanwhile, nine people were arrested at a Black Lives Matter protest in Manhattan.
