Purple Heart Returned to Family of Sailor Killed in WWII

NBC 4 New York recently helped a man trying to return a Purple Heart discovered in a safety deposit box to its rightful owner. Michael Gargiulo was there when the medal was presented to the family of a sailor who made the supreme sacrifice nearly 70 years ago. Joseph Tempio, of Garfield, was 35 when he was killed on the USS Bunker Hill off Okinawa in May 1945, one of the final battles of World War II.
