Pos Black 10/24: For Colored Girls

Words from a classic piece of Black literature will soon have their debut on the big screen in the upcoming film “For Colored Girls” directed by Tyler Perry. An all-star cast of African-American actresses featuring Janet Jackson, Phylicia Rashad, and Whoopi Goldberg bring the words of the 1975 Ntzoake Shange “choreopoem” to life.Our Tracie Strahan sat down with some of the actresses and the director to discuss what it was like working together and what it took to bring this work to the big screen in this edition of “Positively Black.”
