Iraqi Boy Officially Adopted on Long Island

Young Dean Hadi was so seriously wounded by an IED in Iraq that doctors there gave him no hope of recovery. But his uncle refused to accept that, and after four years of perseverance, 24 surgeries, plenty of helping hands and being granted political asylum in the U.S., Dean’s determined uncle was able to adopt the boy Wednesday.
