Mom Blasts School as Son's Worn-Out Jeans Earn Trip to Principal
A South Carolina mother says a school’s dress code encourages bullying after her 11-year-old son is singled out for wearing well-worn jeans. Lori Orr got a phone call from the school asking her to bring in a new pair of pants.
“I asked them, is this really a reason for him to have to be sent to the office and disrupt his entire day; is this a good reason? And she says, ‘We realize it’s not a hole. It’s what we call an emerging hole.'”
For Orr, providing clothing is a struggle. “My mother and father live pay check to pay check and so do I,” she says.
