Massive Inferno Scorches East Village Rooftop

The cause behind this massive rooftop blaze in the East Village appears to be unapproved electrical wiring. Fire marshals say the rooftop — on the corner of Houston and Avenue — was set aflame accidently by an electrical adapter and extension cord. Residents are still being kept out of their homes. One business has been closed indefintely.
