Hospital Nursery Drug Bust

One father came to a hospital in Hudson, New York to see his newborn child, and ended up leaving the hospital in handcuffs on Wednesday. Hudson Police were called to Columbia Memorial Hospital after hospital staff suspected that 34-year-old James Rivenburg and his wife were on drugs, and proceeded to search and arrest the new father. “Just under a pound of marijuana and a quantity of heroin and also a few hypodermic needles,” said Detective Jeffrey Keyser when asked what authorities had confiscated. Rivenburg has been charged with felony possession of marijuana, and two misdemeanors for the needles and heroin.
