Sully Challenges Mayor on Trash-Station Plan Near JFK

Mayor Bloomberg once gave a key to the city to Captain “Sully,” the pilot who safely landed a plane crippled by a bird strike in the Hudson River. Now the two men are at odds over a proposed garbage transfer station near Kennedy Airport that Sully argues will attract birds and increase the risk of bird strikes. Andrew Siff reports.
