NYC Shuts 9 Pre-K Centers, Delays Opening of 36 Others

Two days before the start of school Mayor de Blasio’s office announced 45 pre-kindergarten centers will not be ready to open. Safety and integrity concerns were behind the decision to revoke contracts at nine of those centers. That leaves nearly 1,200 kids and their parents without a classroom to call their own.
