Siff, while a law enforcement reporter at NY1, delivered many one-on-one interviews with Police Commissioner Ray Kelly. Siff also worked at WKBW-TV in Buffalo and WTVH-TV in Syracuse. He began his career as a general assignment reporter at the NBC affiliate WEEK-TV in Peoria, Illinois. His first major assignment was the 1992 strike at Caterpillar Inc., where 14,000 workers hit the picket lines.

Siff received a 2013 New York Emmy and a New York State Associated Press award for General Excellence in Reporting. He has also been recognized by: The New York Press Club, The Press Club of Long Island, and the Syracuse Press Club for feature reporting.
