Thandie Newton About Her Audition for ‘Westworld'

Harry: “Tell everybody how you auditioned for the show.” Thandie: “Oh my goodness! I was in London and I actually just had my son Booker. He was just 4 months old and the showrunner Jonah Nolan and his wife Lisa Joy, who are the showrunners, husband and wife, I was talking to Jonah on Skype. I had it all set up, the lighting was good, this was in my living room and my baby, I was still nursing my son, was with my husband just outside the door and we started a conversation talking about ‘Westworld’ and the show and it was going on for quite a long time and I could hear my baby at the door wanting to be nursed and you know how it is ladies, when you’re nursing, when your kid needs you, everything is firing up. I said to Jonah, ‘I’m so so sorry. I’m going to have to bring my baby here.’ And I thought this is going to lose me the job. He’s going to see a lactating woman and go ‘How is she going to be on the set? We are going to have to have baby stuff. What an inconvenience.’ So my husband brought in the baby and I ended up breastfeeding my kid while talking to Jonah and then do you know what happened, Lisa came onto the screen breastfeeding her little baby.” For full interviews, check out “Harry.”
