Suspect in back-to-back armed carjacking and attempted carjacking in Norwalk arrested

Police have arrested a suspect after an investigation into one armed carjacking and an attempted carjacking in Norwalk on the morning of March 28.

Police said a 911 call came in at 5:02 a.m. about a carjacking that had just happened on Westport Avenue. They said two people stole a BMW X3 from the owner at gunpoint, then left.

There was then an attempted carjacking at Dry Hill Road and Westport Avenue, but the driver was able to get past them and get away, according to police.

Officers were able to recover the vehicle that was stolen.

Norwalk police said they have charged an 18-year-old Waterbury man with robbery in the first degree and attempted robbery in the first degree.

His bond was set at $2 million.
