President Donald Trump’s announcement of a SCOTUS pick on Tuesday was overshadowed by his firing late Monday of acting Attorney General Sally Yates, a decision that helped fuel Democrat opposition against the president. Yates was fired from her short-term job as acting attorney general after she refused to defend the president’s travel ban over the weekend.
