Woman Rescued From Car Sinking in Long Island Pond: Police

A woman drove into a frigid Long Island pond and good Samaritans rescued her from the water, police say. Wale Aliyu reports.

A woman drove into a Long Island pond during heavy rain Sunday evening and good Samaritans rescued her from the vehicle, police said. 

The 60-year-old woman drove her Toyota Camry into Mills Pond in Smithtown, Suffolk County police said. 

Two good Samaritans helped to pull the woman from the car, police said. 

She was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for evaluation, police said.
