Police are looking for the robber who allegedly shimmied up fire escapes and broke into four Washington Heights homes over a two-day period in March, authorities say.
In each case, the suspect gained access to the fire escapes from a rear alley shared by several buildings on 180th Street.
The suspect climbed up the fire escapes and then broke into the apartments either through a bedroom window, a living room window or another entry point, and stole property from all but one of the four homes.
Police say all the robberies happened between the hours of 8:15 p.m. and 12:40 a.m. on March 15 and March 16.
Authorities released surveillance video of the suspect climbing down from a fire escape after one of the break-ins.
No injuries were reported.
Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
