Brazen Thief Swipes Diamond Necklaces from Tiffany's

The thief was caught on surveillance video swiping two diamond necklaces worth nearly $100,000 from the Tiffany's store on Fifth Avenue

A jewelry thief made off with two diamond necklaces, worth $68,000 and $30,000, from the Tiffany’s jewelry store on Fifth Avenue Friday, June 7. Police are searching for the suspects.

Police are searching for the thief who made off with two diamond necklaces worth a total of nearly $100,000 from the Tiffany's store on Fifth Avenue last Friday.

Surveillance video captured the well-dressed suspect, who entered the store at 727 Fifth Ave. at about 3 p.m. on June 7, and asked a worker to see a necklace, according to police. The worker took out two necklaces, and as she went to reach for a calculator, the suspect grabbed them from the counter and ran. 

No one was hurt.

The stolen jewelry were a 30-inch diamond necklace worth $68,000 and a 15-inch diamond necklace worth $30,000, according to a police source.
