Muggy Weather, Downpours to Dampen the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York

It's going to be another wet weekend for Governors Ball

Janice Huff’s early morning forecast for Saturday, June 2.

What to Know

  • It's going to be a cloudy, wet weekend for Governors Ball in New York City
  • Thunderstorms are expected on Saturday afternoon, with a high of 82
  • The weather should dry out for the festival Sunday, although showers are still likely

If you're headed to the 2018 Governors Ball Music Festival -- or planning to do anything outside this weekend, for that matter -- you might want to pack a change of clothes.

That's because if the muggy and warm conditions and pop-up thunderstorm's don't get you, the significantly cooler conditions on Saturday will have you reaching for a sweatshirt.

Saturday's conditions will be very similar to Friday's, with isolated storms and highs spiking into the 80s amid high humidity.

Sunday will give you a chance to dry out, with the weather looking mostly cloudy. However the temperatures are set to drop, with a high of just 68, Storm Team 4 says.

Governors Ball has a history of rain. Festival-goers were forced to trudge through mud in 2013, and the final day of the concert was canceled in 2016 because of the weather.
