Osteen delivers a televised sermon from the field.
Organizers of the event say they expect more than 40,000 people to attend.
Osteen and his wife Victoria regularly draw crowds that large to sermons at their megachurch in Houston, Texas.
The old Yankee Stadium had played host for a number of large religious gatherings, including a mass last year by Pope Benedict XVI.
