Two Dead in Separate Fires on Long Island

The fires were in Wainscott and Commack.

Two people are dead after a pair of fires on Long Island.

Suffolk County police say one person was found dead Friday evening in the ruins of a vacation cabin in Wainscott. The 6 p.m. fire consumed most of the small building. The name of the victim was not immediately released.

In Commack, a house fire earlier Friday killed 78-year-old Louis Donolli and burned his 48-year-old son.

Suffolk County police tell Newsday that Donolli was disabled and was taking a bath when the fire broke out. His son was home, but was unable to extinguish the blaze or carry his father to safety.
