Subway Pickpocket Nabbed in Early-Morning Arrest

Chukwidike Enemuo, 22, was arrested after police saw him trying to steal from a sleeping passenger.

Police arrested a man Saturday who they say has been picking the pockets of unsuspecting subway passengers as they sleep on the train.

Police saw Chukwidike Enemuo, 22, of Jamaica, Queens slip his hands in the pocket of a passenger who slept on a 7 train as it waited to leave the Times Square station early Saturday.

Enemuo then exited the car and was stopped by officers who found he was in possession of a stolen iPhone and credit card.

They later determined that the respective owners had the items taken from them after they fell asleep on different subway trains.

Enemuo was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and jostling.
