A train passenger pulled a knife on another man and threatened to kill him after the man admonished him for hitting his child, law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation tell NBC 4 New York.
The 45-year-old victim was riding an uptown E train in Manhattan with his wife and four-year-old daughter around 3:30 p.m. on June 24 when he saw the other passenger hit his own child, who was riding in a stroller, the law enforcement sources said.
After the 45-year-old expressed disapproval, the passenger started to threaten him, police said.
“It’s my kid — worry about your f---ing kid,” the passenger told the man at some point during the dispute, according to law enforcement sources. "I will kill you on this train."
“I promise you I will change your life," the passenger added.
Video taken inside the subway car shows the passenger with the stroller pull out a knife and shout as he holds open the train doors.

The passenger spits at the 45-year-old man just before exiting the train, the video shows.
On Sunday, the man told News 4 he and his family were on an outing to get ice cream when the squabble happened.
"We made eye contact and he says, 'Why are you looking at me?' And used f-words. And I said, 'You shouldn't hit your kid. It's unnecessary,'" the man recalled.
Police are now searching for the knife-wielding passenger, who was last seen wearing a red shirt.
