An 83-year-old psychologist is dead and his wife is injured after a fire ripped through their New York City apartment.
Police say Howard Bogard died in the blaze that broke out around 12:50 a.m. Saturday.
His wife was treated for smoke inhalation at New York Hospital. The cause of the fire in the couple's Park Avenue apartment is under investigation.
The Daily News wrote a story in 1998 about Bogard's love of his two Abyssinian cats, Luke and Baby, despite his allergies.
