Police Release Photo of Man Who Allegedly Splashed Acid-Like Fluid in Woman's Face

Police have released a new photo of the man accused of tossing an acid-like liquid into the face of a woman in Queens.

The suspect approached the 59-year-old woman at about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday as she was entering her car on Skillman Avenue in Long Island City, investigators said Saturday. When the woman turned toward the suspect, he splashed an unknown liquid in her face.

The woman was treated for third-degree burns to her face at Weill Cornell Medical Center and released, police said.

Last week police also released a sketch of the suspect. Anyone with information about the attack or the identity of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
