Man Impersonates Police Officer, Then Sexually Assaults, Robs Woman

The attack happened in Queens.

Police say this man impersonated a police officer and sexually assaulted a woman before robbing her.

Police are looking for a man who impersonated a police officer and sexually assaulted a Queens woman in her home before robbing her.

Police said Friday the woman, 52, was posting flyers at about 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 along 41st Avenue in Flushing when she was approached by a burgundy van or SUV with four people inside.

The suspect displayed a business card with a police logo and  told her it was illegal to post flyers, asking for her identification, police said.  She said she did not have her ID with her, so the suspect ordered her in the vehicle and drove to her apartment.

Inside the car there were two other people that the suspect told her were under arrest.

He then followed her into her apartment, and after she showed her ID, he forced her to take off her clothes, exposed himself, made her sit on his lap and sexually assaulted her. She then escaped the apartment.

Police said he then took her laptop and house keys. Video of the suspect is above.
