NYPD Officer Cosplays as ‘It' Clown Pennywise at New York Comic Con

Everything floats down in the subway

NY Live pays a visit to NY Comic Con 2017 and meets some very interesting characters.

If Pennywise the clown approaches you in the subway with a balloon, you might want to avoid calling the police — because he is the police.

NYPD Transit Chief Joseph Fox posted a photo to Twitter Saturday of a plainclothes officer in the subway dressed as the murderous clown from the “It” movies.

"With @NY_Comic_Con happening, our plainclothes officers had to step up their game," Fox tweeted, using the hashtag #CosplayCops.

The officer was headed to the Javits Center, where thousands of people are taking part in New York Comic Con 2017 this weekend.

He was apparently a hit with festivalgoers.

“My 9 yo son LOVED this guy!” one woman tweeted in reply. “Wait till I tell him it's a cop! He will be so excited!”

“I saw him. Nice cosplay!” another user said.

But the clown averse on Twitter weren’t having any of it.

One user summed up the sentiments of many: “NOPE.”
