NYPD Mounted Unit Cop Busted for Sending Sexual Vid, Sexting With Girl, 16: NYPD

David P. Stagliano, 38, was arrested Friday and suspended from the department without pay, authorities said Wednesday. He was charged with disseminating indecent material to minors and endangering the welfare of a child.

An NYPD officer is in hot water after he allegedly sexted with a 16-year-old girl and sent her a video of himself masturbating, police officials said.

David P. Stagliano, 38, was arrested Friday and suspended from the department without pay, authorities said Wednesday. He was charged with disseminating indecent material to minors and endangering the welfare of a child.

The Ronkonkoma cop, who used his horse to help apprehend a robbery suspect last June, allegedly sent the salacious 21-second video to the girl's cellphone at around 8:42 p.m. last Tuesday, according to a criminal complaint filed at Suffolk County's First District Court Saturday.

His attorney, Craig Hayes, said the officer was released after posting $5,000 bond and pled not guilty to both counts. He added that the 10-year NYPD vet has "an impeccable service record" and said the allegations against his client are "completely out of character."

The disgraced officer also served six years with the U.S. Marine Corps as a combat vet in Somalia, Hayes said.

He wouldn't go into detail about how the officer and the teen met, or whether they had a relationship.

Stagliano and his wife lost their son Matthew a year and a half ago after he battled a heart condition. The younger Stagliano was an accomplished aviator at just 16 years old — he even convinced his high school principal to let him perform flyovers before homecoming games at Connetquot High School, according to Newsday.

Stagliano is due back in court Thursday.
