NYPD Chief Rodney Harrison Makes History

As the NYPD’s first black Chief of Detectives, Rodney Harrison is a blazing a trail for other officers of color. But despite his high-ranking position now, Harrison seemed just as comfortable at his South Jamaica, Queens, precinct where he grew up as he does leading fellow officers at One Police Plaza after 28 years with the department.
