Man With Cane Snatches Church Painting: NYPD

Super Bowl LIII MVP Julian Edelman stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to proudly show off the Lombardi Trophy and walked away with a fresh shave. In a preview of Edelman’s appearance on Friday’s show, the New England Patriots wide receiver expressed gratitude to his parents for supporting his career and talked about what being named Super Bowl MVP meant to him and his family.

Police are searching for an older man who snuck into a Washington Heights church and stealthily made off with a painting.

Surveillance video shows the man slowly making his way into Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church with a cane last Sunday afternoon.

Moments later, the man walks over to a wooden chest and grabs the painting of a religious icon. The video shows him removing his jacket and wrapping it around the painting.

He then picks up his cane, which he had dropped, and makes his way out of the church.

Police say the suspect is around 65-years-old. He appears to have long darkish gray hair and a white beard.
