Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will answer questions about national security, military affairs and veterans issues aboard the USS Intrepid in Manhattan on Wednesday night.

The candidates will appear on stage at different times -- a coin flip decided the Democrat would go first, followed by the Republican -- during the Commander-in-Chief Forum, which will be moderated by TODAY co-anchor Matt Lauer.

The forum comes as an NBC News/Survey Monkey poll released Wednesday showed Trump leading rival Clinton by 19 points among voters currently serving or previously serving in the U.S. military.

The poll shows 55 percent of military voters support Trump and 36 percent support Clinton.

A large majority of those voters, 64 percent, say they wouldn’t be confident in the Democrat's ability to serve as commander-in-chief.

Clinton said this week that the Republican's campaign has been “one long insult to all those who’ve worn the uniform.”

Trump hit back at a rally on Tuesday night, accusing Clinton of covering up massive crimes while she was secretary of state.

“If she applied for a low-level job at the State Department today, she couldn’t even get a security clearance based on what she’s done,” Trump said.

A coin toss determined that Clinton will be first to take the stage at the forum on Wednesday. The two candidates won’t share the stage but will appear back-to-back to answer questions in front of current and former military members.
