The pass rush is back, but not all news is good on defense.
New Yorkers may think they’ve seen everything, but they haven’t seen the pageantry, acrobatics and equestrian tricks of Cavalia, yet.
The elaborate show -- something like "Cirque du Soleil" meets "Medieval Times," without dinner -- makes its Tri-State area premiere Wednesday, June 9, and runs through June 20 at the Meadowlands.
Conceived by Cirque du Soleil co-founder Normand Latourelle, the show is a grand-scale spectacular with 40 performers and 60 horses of 11 breeds.
“My passion in life is to make people dream,” said Latourelle. “When I first introduced Cirque at Battery Park in 1988, I always wished I could return and introduce something new to the New York area. Cavalia took nearly 20 years to conceive, and I am thrilled to represent this one-of-a-kind show.”
More than 3 million spectators have already seen the show in Europe, Canada and other American cities, including Washington, D.C., Boston, San Francisco, Chicago and Los Angeles.
Tickets range in price from $56 to $126 for regular seating, and $156 to $206 for various VIP experiences, which include a tour of the stables.
Children’s tickets start at $39.50, and seniors’ and student tickets run $44.50 and up. Matinee performances are available on the weekends, and on weeknights Cavalia starts at 8 p.m.

A Horse Lovers Package also lets patrons tour the stables, and a Rendez-Vous Package includes a stables tour and cocktail and dinner reception.
In the video above, Latourelle hopes people of all ages go home with a magical experience after seeing the show, which brought little spectator Tyler Degnen to tears, since he couldn't take a horse home with him.
