Man Has Groped Women At Least 5 Times Since December at Brooklyn Station: Police

A man in Brooklyn is riding the Q train and groping women on platforms or on the subway and is linked to at least five incidents, police say.

A man has fondled women at least five different times since December, police say, and it appears he is targeting his victims at a Q subway station in Brooklyn.

The first case in the pattern dates back to 4 a.m. Dec. 4, when the man touched a woman’s buttocks as the Q train they were on approached the Avenue U station, police say. He ran off once the train stopped.

About six weeks passed before the man struck again, authorities said. On Jan. 14 shortly after 4 p.m., the man grabbed a woman’s buttocks while she was waiting for the train on the platform at the same station, authorities said.

Three other cases were reported since then, all them involving women at the Avenue U station, authorities said. The most recent was May 15.

In one attack, the man shoved a woman against the wall on the platform and fondled her until the train arrived, police said.

Investigators released surveillance footage of the man. Anyone with information about him is asked to call police.
