Livery Cab Passenger Critically Hurt in Hit-and-Run: NYPD

A woman is in critical condition after the livery cab she was riding in was hit by a driver who fled the scene. Katherine Creag reports.

A 62-year-old woman was critically hurt when a hit-and-run driver crashed into the livery cab she was riding in, police said. 

The driver was traveling west in an Acura on East 129th Street in East Harlem around 1 a.m. on Monday when he hit the livery cab, which was headed north on Park Avenue, the NYPD said.

The Acura driver, described only as a man of an unknown age, fled the scene of the crash on foot, police said.

The 47-year-old livery cab driver sustained minor injuries in the crash, police said. His 62-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The Acura driver had not been arrested as of Monday afternoon, according to police.
