A Vice President and a Trustee have become the latest LIPA departures after Hurricane Sandy. Greg Cergol reports.
A top LIPA executive and a LIPA trustee announced their resignations Monday as the power authority deals with criticism in their response to Sandy, NBC 4 New York has confirmed.
Bruce Germano, the vice president of customer service, told Newsday his resignation was "purely a personal decision."
X. Cristofer Damianos, who served on the LIPA board, also stepped down. LIPA spokeswoman Elizabeth Flagler said he who owns a commercial real estate firm and left "to spend more time on his business."
Damianos was appointed a trustee by Gov. Eliot Spitzer in 2007. Germano was a LIPA "veteran," according to Newsday.
The resignation of another top executive and a trustee comes weeks after LIPA's chief operating officer Michael Hervey stepped down from his position.

At the time of his resignation, LIPA Chairman Howard E. Steinberg said about Hervey in a statement, "Mike has played a leadership role in connection with the planned structural changes at LIPA going forward which will result in better service and accountability to LIPA’s customers in the years ahead."
