New York Gov. David Paterson still has no indication lawmakers will meet a Friday deadline for delivering their proposals to close a billion dollar gap in the state budget.
The Senate and Assembly wouldn't say if they'd make Paterson's deadline, and nothing was submitted by the middle of the afternoon.
Senate Republican Leader Dean Skelos says he's waiting for the governor's ideas.
Officials speaking separately for Assembly and Senate Democrats declined to say whether they'd come up with proposals at all.
Paterson called for a special session Nov. 18 to close a $1.5 billion budget gap.
He's complained publicly that lawmakers tend to raise objections to his plans for cuts without offering their own proposals.
