More than 100 people were arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents during a month-long sweep across New Jersey that spanned 14 counties.
Federal authorities say the sweep targeted people with prior arrests, convictions or outstanding driving under the influence charges, although some had other previous arrests or convictions. They say 123 people were taken into custody overall.
According to ICE, 90 percent of the arrested had prior criminal convictions and/or pending criminal charges.
Those arrested range in age from 19 to 56 and include 41 nationals of Mexico, 24 from Guatemala, 16 from Ecuador, 14 from Honduras, six from Peru, three from Brazil, three from Costa Rica, two from Poland, two from Spain, one from Trinidad and one from the Dominican Republic, according to ICE.
Those charged included a 30-year-old Mexican national with convictions for DUI and indecent assault of a minor, as well as a 38-year-old previously deported Guatemalan national who has convictions for aggravated assault and weapons possession.
The arrests took place in Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Essex, Hudson, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset and Union counties. Additionally, one individual was arrested in Pennsylvania, according to ICE.

Customs and Border Protection staffers assisted ICE's Homeland Security Investigations team during the sweep announced Monday.
