I-Team: Avonte's Law Comes to Fruition With Installation of Alarms on NYC School Doors

Two years after Avonte Oquendo, a 14-year-old boy with autism, ran from his Queens school through an unlocked side door and turned up dead three months later, a law bearing his name is coming to fruition. Door alarms are being installed in almost every New York City school, and NBC 4 New York’s I-Team got a look at the last installations being made ahead of schedule. Pei-Sze Cheng reports.
