History of First African American Owned County Club

The Shady Rest Golf and Country Club, which is still standing in Scotch Plains, was the first one owned and operated by African Americans in the U.S. It is also the symbol of another first — the first American born golfer and first African American to compete at the U.S. Open. NBC New York’s Pat Battle reports.
