Help Find Charlie! Desperate Family Begs for Help Bringing Beloved Missing Dog Home

A desperate Yonkers family is pleading for help finding Charlie, their 13-year-old "sweet dog" who vanished from his Yonkers home late last month.
More than a dozen volunteers have joined up to try to help find the adorable pit bull German Shepherd mix, who disappeared from his McClean Avenue house during a thunderstorm on April 29 around 4 a.m. Charlie's family says there was a reported sighting of him in the Bronx on May 2; he was still wearing his purple Marvel Avengers collar, but he hasn't been seen since.
"We have been looking for Charlie each and every single day and night since he ran away, but have had no luck," owner Diana Villaran said. "It breaks my heart that he has been separated from his family and wandering the streets alone, and scared."
Charlie is described as being about 60 pounds with an orange-tan coat. He's said to be "friendly, approachable and extremely afraid of lightning and thunder." His family is heartbroken by his disappearance, Villaran said, adding her two children are particularly devastated.
"Charlie is not the ordinary dog he's smart, loving, caring and full of affection," Villaran said. "He's been a big brother to all our other dogs and cats. Charlie has so much more life to live."

They may slobber, but oh so fluffy and sweet. In that vein, 559 registered male dogs in the city have the name Teddy. The sixth most popular name for registered female dogs in 2016 was Princess (605).

More than 500 male dogs respond to the name Toby, while 560 female dogs come running when they hear the name Luna.
The dog in this photo probably isn't named Jack or Chloe, but if it were, it would have the eighth most popular dog name in the city (488 for Jack, 548 for Chloe).

Atta boy, Milo! That's the ninth most popular name for male dogs in the city (443). For female dogs, Molly comes in ninth (516) in popularity.

The city found a few interesting trends imaging. New Yorkers apparently like to name their dogs after other animals. In that category, the most popular name is Bear (308), followed by Tiger (104), Moose (75), Panda (63) and Monkey (35).

They also seem to be enjoying naming their pups after fruits, vegetables and spices. According to the city, 348 registered dogs are named Ginger and 270 are named Pepper. There are also a bunch of dogs named Olive (174), Cinnamon (75) and Peaches (68).
