Fire Burns Through Long Island Home; 1 Firefighter Injured

Investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire that nearly destroyed a home on Long Island. Firefighters responded to the fire on Robinson Avenue in Medford around 11 p.m. Thursday. Flames and smoke shot out of the home as crews tried to control the blaze. One firefighter suffered a head injury and was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital, officials said. There was extensive damage to the house.
