Driver Identified in Dump Truck Hit-and-Run That Killed Woman

A 21-year-old woman was hit and killed last month in Union Square

The family of an actress killed by a hit and run driver in Union Square last month want to know why there hasn’t been any arrest, despite the fact that police say they’ve identified the driver. Ida Siegal reports.

The driver of a dump truck that killed a woman in Union Square and didn't stop at the scene has been identified, NBC 4 New York has learned.

A source says the driver is cooperating with the investigation. Authorities are still determining whether charges will be brought.

Roxana Sorina Buta was headed home from her job as a waitress when she was hit by the truck.

The young actress was in a comedy called "Him" that played at the Cherry Lane Theatre in Greenwich Village. Its run ended in January.

Police have the truck, the source says.
