Court Staffing Shortage Reaches Crisis Proportions

[Note: Audio briefly drops at start of report due to technical error] At Brooklyn Criminal Court, you may have the right to a speedy trial but there’s no guarantee you’ll have speedy access to the courthouse. Chances are you’ll be late, with lines stretching outside the block for over an hour, and then the wait to get through the magnetometers taking another hour. It’s all because of what court officers claim is a staffing shortage of crisis proportions. Melissa Russo reports.
