A police officer shot and wounded a woman in Brooklyn Saturday who approached him threateningly with a 15-inch knife, officials said.
The woman's parents, who live with her in a Crown Heights apartment, called police at around 3 p.m. because their daughter was behaving erratically, according to authorities.
When police arrived at the apartment on Brooklyn Avenue the woman approached the officers in a threatening manner with the knife, and one of them shot her in the torso.
Officials said the woman is in stable condition after being taken to the hospital.
