A New Jersey man charged with strangling his ex-wife with the help of his college student daughter and then staging her death to look like a suicide will face charges in New York after waiving extradition.
Forty-six-year-old Lloyd Neurauter, of North Brunswick, was arrested in Princeton last week, a dramatic takedown caught on camera. He waived extradition on Wednesday and Corning, New York, police are making arrangements for his return to New York state.
Police say he and 20-year-old Karrie Neurauter, of Syracuse, New York, are charged with second-degree murder in the August death of 46-year-old Michele Neurauter. Police say Michele Neurauter died of strangulation at her Corning home, but her death was staged to throw off investigators. Police say they had previously responded to multiple domestic violence calls there.
Karrie Neurauter, a student at Rochester Institute of Technology, pleaded not guilty last week and is being held in county jail without bail. Her attorney had no comment to media.
Officials didn't reveal a possible motive or method of death.
