The Coast Guard and the Fire Department rescued four people from a sinking yacht near Great Neck on Thursday, officials said.

The Coast Guard said a crew member aboard Tranquility reported that the 60-foot pleasure craft was taking on water near Kings Point just after 9 a.m.

Rescuers from the Coast Guard and the FDNY transferred the four people on board Tranquility to an FDNY boat, which towed Tranquility to the nearby Stepping Stones Marina.

The Coast Guard boat crew used pumps to keep the sinking yacht afloat as it was towed.

The cause of the incident was still unknown Thursday afternoon, the Coast Guard said.
