Decomposing Body Found Inside Crate at Bronx Marina: NYPD

A gruesome discovery was made in the Bronx Tuesday. Police say a decomposing body was found under a boat. The body was inside a plywood crate encased in Plexiglas and Styrofoam.

Authorities found a body inside a crate encased in Plexiglass and Styrofoam underneath a boat in a Bronx marina, police say.

The unidentified, decomposed body was discovered in the crate at the Locust Point Marina on Reynolds Avenue shortly after midnight Tuesday, police said. A marina worker found the body and the crate and called 911.

The medical examiner is working to determine a cause of death.

The boat belonged to someone who died two years ago, according to neighbors at the marina. It's not clear how the crate was found.
