Brooklyn Woman Robbed at Apartment Doorstep

The victim was entering an apartment at Kosciuszko Street when she was asked for the time, then robbed

Police have released this surveillance video of a woman being robbed as she entered an apartment in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn April 9. Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or at nypdcrimestoppers.com.

A woman in Brooklyn was assaulted and robbed as she entered an apartment last month, and police have released surveillance video of the incident.

The 26-year-old woman was entering an apartment at Kosciusczko Street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn just after midnight on April 9 when another woman in her 30s approached her to ask for the time, police said.

When the victim took out her iPhone to check, a man appeared from behind and placed her in a chokehold, police said. He demanded her phone and purse, and the pair of suspects then ran away.

The male suspect is described as being in his 30s, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. The female suspect appeared to be about 5 feet 3 inches and 170 pounds.
